Dr. Elaina Carwen is dedicated to expanding spiritual and theological understanding while helping people explore their own spirituality.
Elaina is an educator and scholar who has been studying spirituality, theology, and religion for more than two decades. With a Ph.D in Comparative Religious Studies and a Master’s Degree in Religious Education, her areas of specialization are spiritual development and pluralistic relational theology.
This career is both a personal calling and professional pursuit for Elaina. Committed to her own spiritual/religious path since high school, she has worked as an associate minister and spent over twelve years in private practice providing a diverse clientele with individualized, multifaith spiritual support. These experiences gave her a wealth of everyday spiritual insight and a great appreciation for the many ways in which people find meaning and solace.
Elaina offers a down-to-earth approach to learning about theological and spiritual topics. Utilizing her special blend of practical and academic expertise, she inspires people to cultivate a deeper relationship with their spirituality, divinity, and each other.
A Note from Elaina
While my official bio covers the major milestones of my career, there is (of course) much more to the story. Even as a young child, I was the kid who wanted to know why. I was curious about many things, especially God. By high school, I had begun searching for answers to my deepest questions, unaware that I was setting out on a lifelong pursuit.
As life progressed, my innate curiosity and interest in divinity never waned. I have been on this personal and vocational path since I was young, driven by a desire for understanding and an inner calling to help people. Over time, my purpose, beliefs, and religious expression have shifted and evolved in beautiful ways.
For me, there is no destination, enlightenment, or perfection to achieve. I can only continue to learn and grow. Life, in my view, is a co-creative journey full of love, connection, pain, struggle, healing, beauty, and wonderful possibilities.
